This workshop is nothing if not creative fun!
We will make our own fabrics using water-soluble materials which can then be used as a base fabric to embellish with hand embroidery or free-motion.
You can also use this fabric to cut applique shapes and use for your own decorative projects.
We will make flowers, leaves and other designs from organza and, depending on time, go on to make a small piece of braid.
For the free-motion embroidery part of the day, we will use hessian as our base fabric, using free-motion embroidery as a drawing tool rather than fixing applique. We’ll also use this technique to ‘write’ onto different fabrics, such as muslin, calico and hessian.
All materials are provided. You will need to bring a sewing machine on which you can “drop the feed dogs”. If this is a problem, please contact me at allsewnupbydebs@gmail.com.
The workshop will take place at Fulbeck Craft Centre on Sunday 12th May 2024. Please arrive at 9.30am for a prompt 10.00am start and we aim to finish around 3.30pm.
Tea and coffee is provided and lunch is available from the newly refurbished Fulbeck Craft Centre café
Join us for a truly creative experience and a fun day!.
